This free festival is happening again Feb 7-9th,2014 at Mare Island in Vallejo. This is the 18th year and is a time for all those who love birds and native California wildlife to celebrate the migrations that take place at this time of year. The animal & bird rescue organizations come out in force, bringing rescued critters to show you as ambassadors for their species. There are organized hikes and you are invited to bring your binoculars and hiking boots and take a walk or hike to see what the park has to offer. The chapel is open for tours and you can see the beautiful Tiffany stained-glass windows from this early 20th century chapel. The festival has wonderful organic, vegetarian soup available as well as snacks & drinks. There is an art show and raffles and things to buy and bid on in the silent auction.
